windows 7 ultimate

Will I need to do a clean install for Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit if I have already Vista Home Premium 64bit? None of my software I use for handicapping horse racing is able to run on 64bit systems. The only thing it is able to run on is Windows xp 32bit and I have seen that Windows Ultimate 7 has a feature to run Windows XP compatible programs. Thanks for your help

Yes, windows vista x64 can’t be upgraded/downgraded to a x32 bit os you will have to reinstall.

There is no way to downgrade between versions of Windows and it is not possible to move between 32-bit and 64-bit editions. Thus, your only option is to reformat the partition/hard drive and install Windows 7 from scratch by booting from the Windows 7 DVD (not from within Windows), making sure that you have backed up all of your personal files first
