“Windows 7 installer does not support usb” is the error that comes up when i try to install Windows 7 into my external hard drive. Could you please tell me what to do.

Either wait until Windows installer does support USB, or get software to make your external drive “appear” as if it is really a typical internal HDD.
Or, you could attach another internal drive (empty) and install to that, then copy everything from that drive to your external drive.
