Will Installing Windows 7 Get Rid of Everything on My Computer?

I got a new computer and it comes with a free Windows 7 upgrade when it comes out.
I want to know if installing it will get rid of all my files, programs, games etc.
Can someone please help me with this?

    Assuming you are running Windows Vista, no. The upgrade keeps all your files, user accounts and settings. This makes it very easy to upgrade. If you are running anything else, like Windows XP, everything will be deleted. I hope this helps.

    If you’re using Vista, then no. The upgrade will keep all of your files and programs.

    If you’re using XP or something else, then you’ll probably need to do a clean install, deleting all of your files.

    Upgrade from Vista to Win 7 can keep the files. If you upgrade from Win XP, you need to do clean install and it will destroy all the files.

    not if you’re running an upgrade… if its a fresh install than yes, unless you play around with the setup settings

    You can choose to in-place upgrade and your files, settings, and programs get carried over.

    Alternatively, you can fresh install as recommended, in which case everything gets wiped and you’ll need to reinstall it.

    You get to choose.

    I am running windows 7 right now and so far it is proving to be as good if not better than the hype.
