Vista was a dog. 7 is the same dog with a less fleas.
I downloaded the Beta version of 7 and it put a new driver in my 19 inch CRT monitor. The monitor lasted another 3 hours before it burned out.
If you use 7, be sure your machine has all the latest equipment with it.
BTW, if you see those ads for pre-ordering 7, look at the fine print. It’s for an Upgrade Only. That means you have to have a Full version of Windows Vista already installed on your computer and that disc will overwrite it.
Win 7 is coming out in October 2009 ( pre-order is in place at Micro$oft Site)
1. Home Premium
2. Professional
3. Ultimate
Ultimate has only 2 items that the Professional doesn’t and they are completely unimportant to the normal user. Don’t go for the extra bucks.
There is NO upgrade. But there is a feature called ‘file transfer’ where you run the transfer and it saves your files and settings on an external drive. When you install Win 7 and reformat your drive, you can use the file and settings transfer to reload your old files and settings. You might have to install the actual software so it’s registered in Win 7 but you have all your files ready to go.
Windows 7 by far. It blows both windows xp and vista out of the water. I am currently using the RC and it will be the first operating system I buy without getting a whole new computer. It is fast, and I have encountered little or no errors.

From those 2 it would 7 but i would stick with XP until they get a few more bugs worked out of it. Or they come out with something else.
