I partitioned my hard drive when the windows 7 beta came out so I could dual boot vista and 7. I didn’t like it much so I just formatted the 7 partition, and made the drive into one again. I still have the option to boot into 7 at startup though. How do I get rid of this option so it just boots vista like normal.

PS choosing windows 7 will just give an error, it won’t actually boot. The system is totally gone.

I want to install Windows 7 on my laptop. I have Windows Vista right now. When I am reading the instructions it says that all of the hard drive will be erased and that I will need to reinstall programs. Does that mean all the programs I have installed myself will be erased or does that mean my computer will have nothing on it after I install Windows 7?

Hi, I am in the process of buying a storage solution for a home business which has 50 hard drive bays, I was wondering if windows 7 ultimate will support that many hard drives or if I would need to get a windows server operating system to support that number of hard drives?

I have a windows XP home edition (piece of crap) and I was thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium. But then a thought hit me, could I upgrade because I only have xp home?

I am buying a new computer and have been looking at what specs to get. The computer would have to run some games for my family such as the sims 3.

With this in mind, I was looking at the games requirements.

At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

As you can see the game requires a better pc when using windows vista.

My question is with Windows 7 nearly here, will I need an even more powerful PC to run these same games if i get windows 7.

If anyone can help me out and just generally provide more information about windows 7 and gaming i od really appreciate it.

I’m looking to buy a Solid State (Flash) Hard Drive to boot Windows 7 Ultimate (when it launches) and programs, so that my boot time and application loading times will improve. All my multimedia will be stored on larger conventional hard drives. I need to know the bare minimum space I will need so that I can get the smallest SSD possible, so that I can save some cash. Hi, Currently I am running Windows XP 64bit on my first hdd, I would like to install Windows 7 on my second hard drive, does anyone know how to do this so i can keep Windows XP on my first HDD without loosing all the data for XP and have a dual boot between Windows XP 64bit and Windows 7.

P.S I know that windows 7 is only the release candidate!

I have Windows 7 Evaluation Copy build 7100 currently installed. I upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium to this Windows 7. What I’m asking is that when Windows 7 is officially released on October 22, can I upgrade from this version to the retail version without having to reformat? Meaning I won’t lose everything on my hard drive?

i want windows 7 home premium will it run fine or will it be slow, on 1 gig ram, 160 gb hard drive, and an intel atom processor?

I already made a second Partition and am able to install a second copy but I’m curious, Is it possible to dual boot windows 7, and XP Home edition? Or it just Windows 7 and XP Professional?
