I just asked a question comparing XP with Vista and the feedback I got wasn’t that bad for Vista. But now, I also have the option of installing windows 7 on my laptop. It has 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. I want to make sure that it is ok to install W7 on my system. Will it slow it down? Should I just install Vista Home Premium? Or should I just stick with my current WinXP Home? The programs that I normally use are lightweight. I just need it for internet, and a few more small open source programs. Please give detailed answers!

Will I need to do a clean install for Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit if I have already Vista Home Premium 64bit? None of my software I use for handicapping horse racing is able to run on 64bit systems. The only thing it is able to run on is Windows xp 32bit and I have seen that Windows Ultimate 7 has a feature to run Windows XP compatible programs. Thanks for your help

Ok so my Computer was originally Vista Home Premium But i Upgraded To Windows 7 and now i hate it so i want to reboot as in erase everything and start from the beginning or know how to remove windows 7 because when im on normal mode internet doesnt work but im on safe mode now and it works but anyways i want to reeboot without the cd !

infact i was using vista home premium on my pc a athlon xp 2800+ with 4 GB ram and then i just downloaded the win 7 beta and the performacne increase wasn’t that much noticeable then what the hell is microsoft making i hope win 7 isn’t a repackaged vista otherwise i’ll be going to mac.

I have Windows 7 Evaluation Copy build 7100 currently installed. I upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium to this Windows 7. What I’m asking is that when Windows 7 is officially released on October 22, can I upgrade from this version to the retail version without having to reformat? Meaning I won’t lose everything on my hard drive?
