I’m looking to try it out, can anyone tell me how to create a new partition and install windows 7 on it? And maybe some detail on windows 7, does it update itself, will my vista drivers work on it? (its a laptop)

I partitioned my hard drive when the windows 7 beta came out so I could dual boot vista and 7. I didn’t like it much so I just formatted the 7 partition, and made the drive into one again. I still have the option to boot into 7 at startup though. How do I get rid of this option so it just boots vista like normal.

PS choosing windows 7 will just give an error, it won’t actually boot. The system is totally gone.

Have you tried windows 7 Beta? Is it stable? is it better than the Vista 32Bit Sp1?

I have recently installed the beta for Windows 7. All the files like norton, Lexmark printer’ and etc that worked on XP, deosn’t work on Windows 7 beta. It gives me a compatibility message. Saying because it is an old version. howcan I get everything working again?

I have been on the windows 7 beta for a while, and just recently I decided to start pinning programs to the taskbar.

However, I would like it if the pinned stuff went to the right instead of mixing with my already open stuff (I have a 24 inch Samsung LCD monitor 1920×1200 resolution). I hate having a huge untidy taskbar filled with random pinned stuff AND open programs.

Anyone know what can be done?

I cannot get my ATI Radeon 9200 LE (128MB) graphics card to install on my computer which is running the Windows 7 Ultimate beta. I tried finding some drivers on the internet, but none of them will work. What should I do to fix this problem?

I’m using the Windows 7 Beta right now and I backup my data using the backup program built into windows to my external hard drive. I’m wondering if this backup would be able to be restored onto Windows Vista, because I want to go back to Vista. Thanks.

I am buying a new computer and have been looking at what specs to get. The computer would have to run some games for my family such as the sims 3.

With this in mind, I was looking at the games requirements.

Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1 GB RAM
At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

As you can see the game requires a better pc when using windows vista.

My question is with Windows 7 nearly here, will I need an even more powerful PC to run these same games if i get windows 7.

If anyone can help me out and just generally provide more information about windows 7 and gaming i od really appreciate it.

For people who have tried the Windows 7 beta, is Windows 7 by far the best operating system you have ever seen?

I think it is. It is so much faster, more secure, and better than any other operating system currently available. How many years will it take for Linux or Mac to catch up to Windows 7?

I have just downloaded the windows beta iso and i would really like to RUN it from my 8gb usb drive without installing windows 7 on my computer as dual boot or whatever. It would be even better if I don’t have to reboot the computer and choose it from the bios (like qemu). Please help! =]
