Only if you want to wait at least another 2 years.

I’d say just get it now. Windows 7 won’t be out for a while and Vista is already plenty good as it is. I’ve even heard rumors that Windows 7 is just Vista SP2.

no you shouldn’t wait…
…& that’s because you should just get a mac.

Waiting for Windows 7 is not a choice. Because it will be release only after 1 year. You can buy a Laptop with Vista or load it with a Linuxand install Windows 7 when its out
And dont believe the rumours that Windows 7 is Vista SP2. It is similar to Vista but miles ahead.

I don’t think it would be of any real value to you to wait for Windows 7 before buying a new laptop. First, Microsoft has a long established history of missing it’s release dates. Second, there are often bugs and compatibility issues involved with any new Windows operating system. Third, the Christmas shopping season typically has the year’s best sales, so this is probably your best time to find a good deal. Lastly, if you need/want a new laptop, do you really want to wait for it? Remember, software can be upgraded at a later date so it’s not like you can’t get your laptop now and upgrade to Win7 later.

I wouldn’t… as some people have mentioned, MS never hits it release dates and almost always has bugs to be worked out months after the original release. Vista AND XP are great examples of this.
Besides, if you buy a decent laptop Vista will run well on it. I’ve been running Vista HP on my Macbook for months and NEVER had a problem!
