buy windows 7

I want to install Windows 7 as an update. But I also want to buy the CD.
Can I install it as an update from Vista if I buy the CD?
I want to keep all my applications and files and I dont want to have to put everything on a back up drive.

Thanks

    Yes,

it is possible to update your Vista to 7, and still keep your files.

However, it is still recommended to backup all your important files before upgrading, because should something go wrong during the upgrade, you might lose all your data.

It would be an upgrade, you will have to buy an upgrade cd. So if you have windows vista home, you would have to buy windows 7 home.

Windows 7 is not an update, it’s an upgrade. Your data should stay in contact, but I would advise to backup anything important to be on the safe side.

first of all, you need to buy the cd to do an upgrade to windows 7.
2nd, since its an upgrade, all your files and applications won’t be affected.
    3rd, theres no problem really.
