I am looking to buy a laptop, however I can wait because I have my old laptop. Would it be wise to wait for windows 7 to buy a new laptop? Or should I go ahead and buy it?
My current laptop has XP. I have no problem learning new OS. I already have worked on Vista.

    Trust me run away as fast as you can.
    I used to be hard core windows, I absolutely love xp
    Then vista came out, and I bought a mac, I love it
    7 is the same direction as vista was I think these are the worst two os’s in the history of computers.
    So I would get xp, mac, or linux if I were you.

    well there will be no free upgrade from vista to windows 7 so if i were you i would wait thats what i am doing hope this helps

    What kind of a laptop? Real ones come with Vista and can probably be upgraded to Windows 7 when it is released. Netbooks come with XP and are upgradable, too.

    What OS is your current laptop? It doesn’t make sense to learn a new OS for just a few months.

    If you want to wait, there is always something better coming out soon. But then you may never be able to buy anything.

    You also have to take into consideration that whenever there is a new Windows, there are alot of bugs. So you may have to wait longer than expected for them to work out all the bugs. People who buy a computer when Windows first come out always hates it.

    Take Vista for example: Piece of S#@% when it first came out but now it far exceeds the XP.

    Choice is yours, just depends how long you want to wait.

    A free upgrade system for new computers purchased with Vista Home Premium and above is expected to start taking effect on June 26.

    I’d wait a couple weeks and see what the deal is. MS has confirmed such a system will exist at some point and some retailers have started confirming the date recently.

    You’d be able to buy something with Vista but get Windows 7 when it’s out.
