So I have my windows 7 iso and I’m wanting to install it. I don’t have an external hard drive, or a DVDR drive to burn the iso. What I do have is a second internal HD, is there any way I can make the install directly from the second HD on to my primary HD? I’m using XP.

Use Daemon Tools to emulate a CD/DVD drive to load up the .iso:

Yes, you can do this if you have a special software to install stuff directly from the ISO. I personally prefer Virtual CloneDrive, but there are others like the Microsoft Virtual CD-ROM (but I use Vista so I don’t know what’s it like).

I read on WinMatrix that you can’t upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. So I’ll recommend you to put the ISO on your Windows XP drive and then install Windows 7 on the second drive. That way you can create a dual-boot configuration and then you can boot to Windows 7 and Windows XP. I’m doing this too, and I’m writing this on my Windows 7 machine. Just don’t forget to backup your files.
