When does Microsoft plan to launch the full version of Windows 7? I’m looking to get a new computer, but might wait until 7 comes out if it is in the near future.

They are saying around the beginning of 2010, but I would say bet on later. However, the beta that is out right now is right at the final version. I am using it as my main OS on all 5 of my computers. It is amazing! Besides a couple programs that demand file checks for compatibility, everything works with it. The only thing I haven’t been able to get working with it is GameGuard and programs like that for MMORPGs.

Summer of 2009 but you never know if they will push it back. If it does come out this summer wait couple months for them to work out some bugs or you will be fighting like crazy at first.
Ooops 18April2009
Latest information suggests that the release candidate will appear for trials May09 which suggests a possible official release date before Christmas. Over forty additions and mods to the beta version so they are saying. From what I can see on the beta it is Microsoft’s best ever.

Hi jclayato,
As of now, the only real date Microsoft has released is the day of the conclusion of the Beta – Aug. 1, 2009. At that point, the people using the Beta will have to revert to their old OSs.
One blog that’s done a lot as far as giving people a glimpse into the whole life cycle for Microsoft OSs is this one:.
Also, to stay up to date on the latest Windows 7 news, I’d suggest reading the Windows 7 Team blog:.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Ron
